Butterfly Stool by Sori Yanagi is an icon of 20th century design, where eastern elegance meets technological precision of the West. Created in 1956, the stool impresses with its subtle form inspired by the spread wings of a butterfly, achieved thanks to the plywood bending technique developed by Charles and Ray Eames. Two symmetrical shells made ofbent maple veneer orSantos rosewood, connectedbrass connectors, create a sculptural whole of extraordinary lightness and stability.

Design

Sori Yanagi
Sori Yanagi was one of the most important Japanese designers of the 20th century, combining traditional Eastern aesthetics with Western functionalism. The son of a famous mingei creator, he grew up in the spirit of minimalism and respect for craftsmanship. He studied industrial design in Tokyo, and his works, from furniture to everyday objects, are characterized by harmony of form, material and function. Yanagi believed that beauty comes from utility and that design should be "quiet but durable." His most famous work, Butterfly Stool (1956), became a symbol of the dialogue between nature, technology and the poetry of shape.

We offer delivery by courier, company transport or personal collection. Free delivery applies to orders over PLN 300.
